SOUTHEAST CENTER

Located at 50 SE 17th Ave., Portland, OR 97214, the ChildRoots Southeast Center contains eleven classrooms. CiCi Cooper and Angelina Overstreet are co-directors, Jen Bishop is the school specialist and they are assited by a full staff of teachers, and a cook. ChildRoots focuses on creating an environment where children and teachers are equal participants in the learning process. Our curriculum utilizes the project approach, in which children work on individual and group projects guided by our staff.

 Our meal and nutrition program echoes this community-focused approach, as meals are served family style. Healthy eating habits are encouraged early with each meal featuring organic, vegetarian, and nut-free foods.

Outdoor play at ChildRoots promotes physical, as well as social and intellectual growth as our playground is constantly changing to meet the needs of the children. Each child goes outside once per day, rain or shine.
