NORTHWEST CENTER

Located at 1740 NW Flanders St., Portland, OR 97209, the ChildRoots Northwest center is a 7,906-square-foot building with nine classrooms. Annissa Herlitzka is the director and she is assisted by Assistant Director Sonya Rheingold, a full teaching staff, and a cook.  ChildRoots early learning center provides a premium preschool experience rooted in our unique curriculum. Designed to promote intellectual, social and emotional growth, our program focuses on the development of the “whole child.” This extends beyond the classroom to our meal and nutrition, and outdoor play programs.

Meals are designed as a community experience where children eat together with their group and teachers. Our signature nutrition program, “Take 5,” incorporates a grain, vegetable, fresh fruit, beans, and dairy into every meal. ChildRoots promotes healthy habits through outdoor play, as every enrolled child goes outside at least once per day.
